Lexington, Ky. – July 22, 2020 – Introduced last year to the Kentucky Horse Park, the Classic Champions Developing Jumper Tour offers the opportunity for young horses to compete in an educational and friendly atmosphere. Shane Sweetnam and Sweet Oak Farm’s HDB Quality (Quality Time x Goldgranda) kicked off the 2020 inaugural event with a win Wednesday afternoon, stopping the timers at a nimble 40.77 seconds in the Classic Champions Developing Jumper Tour 7-Year-Old Jumpers.

Cynthia Hampton’s joie de vivre is driven by her passion for young jumpers. It began when she lived in France. A top equitation rider from Portland, Oregon, she moved to Paris in 1977 after graduation from Stanford University.

Sidelines Magazine features a photo spread of “It’s All About the Horse,” Classic Champions’ developing jumper educational event hosted by Wellington Equestrian Center and sponsored by Palm Beach Equine Clinic. The event included clinician Joe Fargis and a panel of experts.

LEXINGTON - KY– Sept. 18, 2019 - Wednesday morning kicked off the first day of competition for the Classic Champions Developing Jumper Finals as a featured event of the Kentucky National Horse Show at the Kentucky Horse Park. Wednesday’s format was used as a warmup for young horses ranging in ages from 4 to 7 and allowed them to become familiar with the expansive and beautiful setting in the Rolex Stadium.

Lexington, Ky. – Aug. 15, 2019 – Young, developing horses were the focal point of the Rolex Stadium on Thursday during the Bluegrass Festival Horse Show as pairs gained valuable show experience as well as chased qualifying points towards the Classic Champions, Inc. Developing Jumper Tour weekend championships. Many horse-and-rider partnerships were also using Thursday’s classes as one of their final opportunities in the show ring to prepare for the year-end championships in September. Proving to be the best of the day in the Classic Champions, Inc. Developing Jumper Tour 7-Year-Old Jumpers, Hardin Towell and Taboo Holding’s Angel Twist sped to victory to add a win to the horse’s growing record. In the 6-year-old section, Mattias Ekeroth and Haydee M led the pack, while David O’Brien and Octavius SCF topped the leaderboard for the 5-year-old class.

Lexington, Ky. – July 31, 2019 – The Classic Champions Developing Jumper Tour kicked off its fifth show of the eight-part tour Wednesday at the Kentucky Summer Classic with a talented collection of up-and-coming young horses tackling the 5, 6 and 7-year-old divisions. While Aaron Vale and Gray’s Inn topped the leaderboard in the 5-year-old class held in the Walnut Ring, the Rolex Stadium saw David O’Brien emerging victorious with the fastest double-clear round in the 7-Year-Old Jumpers. The 6-Year-Old division followed, where Vale topped the leaderboard once again, this time competing three horses in the class before riding away with a one-two finish with Vander Esch and Carina, respectively.

Lexington, Ky. – July 24, 2019 – New this year to the Kentucky Horse Park, the Classic Champions Developing Jumper Tour kicked off its fourth show of the eight-part tour Wednesday at the Kentucky Summer Horse Show with three divisions offered for 5, 6 and 7-year-old horses. A talented collection of up-and-coming young horses tackled the 5-year-old and 6-year-old divisions in the Walnut Ring on Wednesday, while Grace Long and Andrew Kocher’s Happiness VD Hazel HOF emerged with the fastest clear round in the 7-Year-Old Jumpers set in the Rolex Stadium. Long tripped the timers in 36.521 seconds, and Aaron Vale was hot on her tail, finishing second in the class on Thinks Like A Horse’s Prescott in 37.319 seconds. Ridden by Jennifer Waxman, Spy Coast Farm LLC’s Maui SCF finished the jump-off in third place in 39.494 seconds.
